Drop Carmichael on Syria instead, insist constituents

SHETNEWS COMMENTS SECTION – Shetlanders have today called on the UK Government to halt planned air strikes on Islamic State in Syria and instead drop Isles MP Alistair Carmichael.

Their online comments come after it emerged that the Liberal Democrats and the MP would back air strikes in Syria aiming to tackle Islamic State. The announcement came as a surprise as the MP had previously opposed conflicts in Iraq.

One commenter said: “Despite all the controversy around Mr Carmichael’s leak and legal battle, he remains an MP. He’s bulletproof, and therefore we think that he’d be the ultimate Daesh death-machine much like the Terminator. ”

A spokesperson from Mr Carmichael’s office categorically denied that Mr Carmichael would be dropped in Syria instead of bombs, causing local people to assume that the opposite is true.

  1. Hilary Benn said it was time they did their bit for Syria and 397 MPs agreed with him. Does this mean 397 extra troops drafted in to do their bit in Syria ???. Or are they going to stay at home where they know they will be safe.
